Taboo's Junk Trunk: A Storage Dump for Taboo's Random Literary and Cultural Blatherments
We're Roasting Rednecks and Bleeding Hearts Tonight

I've read your articles regularly as you post them. I think in general, it's fair to say I disagree, on a political level, with your opinions almost unilaterally.

Nevertheless, Draginol is completely correct, concerning his recent article, "My problem with the American Left".

1)There's no two ways about it: Democrats are embarrassed that GWB was re-elected.
2)We cannot believe that a majority of the country supports the direction our nation is headed.
3)I apologize.

We're just blogging, here, okay? If we cannot blog with honesty, then what's the point? We write because we like to write, because we have something to say, and because we want to be understood.

I apologize to the rest of the world that GWB has four more years.
I apologize to conservatives for my arrogant attitude.

Both are open-hearted, honest statements. I am raising my right hand as we speak, so to speak.

Conservatives: If you care at all about unifying the political divide, if you are honestly concerned about the level of partisanship, you need to understand this: it may be arrogance, it may be tunnel vision, but Democrats do not understand why people voted for George Bush. And we are in disarray. We do not know what to do. Yes: it is arrogance, plain and simple; but that does not make it any easier to correct our position.

Liberals: If we still believe in our position, if we still believe that a crucial element of morality in this country is eroding, then we need a new voice. Consider this: John Kerry, like every other liberal (not necessarily party Democrats), wrote off the entire south, along with the Dakotas, Montana, Idaho, Oklahoma....

We wrote them off, as in, did not try to pick up those votes. Why? If you believe the answer is something other than arrogance, let me know. When a conservative says thay he/she is sick of the label "religious right-wing", or "Rube from Hicksville" or "Redneck" or "Ignorant" or whatever the hell, what do we immediately think as a response?

No need to spell it out. Whether or not our political position is correct, our voice is wrong, and our humanity is sorely lacking. If half the country believes something different from you, we need an answer other than whiny incredulity. Okay? If you take Mississippi, I'll head off to South Dakota. Let's start talking. VP candidates can dally in California and New York if they so choose; but whomever we nominate as a Democratic candidate for president has to join us in the south, and in the midwest, and in rural, suburban, and urban America. We can't stand around consoling 49% of the population and expect the other 51% to experience a collective epiphany. Let's open our ears, and when we speak, let's try to hit the lower registers as well as the shrill ones we've already mastered.

I just have to say this, TabooTenente, I really like the title of this thread. Very humorous.

Well, I'd say that the liberals, the party dems, at least, have not made any effort whatsoever, and that's one of the reason I joined up here--to see if we could find a new voice.

But I do agree that, in general, the conservative movement has been aggressive, and, yes, slightly nasty. They have some justification, though. Dems have labeled them as evil, and continue to apologize to the world for sharing space with conservatives. You can't really expect them to take the first step when our atitudes are so derrogatory.

Of course, Little_Whip's comments above make me sad, and, unfortunately, probably representative of the general conservative feeling of success, right now.

Your opinion has been dually noted and subsequently iqnored!

Can you ever write a sentence without USING CAPS or *screaming* or exclamation points!!!!!! ? I've never seen you do it, not once. You must be a sad angry man.

I don't like your attitude, and would appreciate you not resonding to my posts by leaving pointless drivel like this. Notice the respectful tone I use; contrast it with your angry, venomous approach.

And learn how to cut and paste properly, your posts are always a mess. Thanks.

Kindest Regards,
David St. Hubbins

You obviously don't read very well then. Because in the post you are refering to I used none of which you claimed I did. And unless it's your blog, I'll leave whatever kind of post I feel like leaving. Also, I want you to show me "one" post where my cut and pastes are messed up. Good Luck at finding one of those. BTW you have very little room to talk about me after what I've been reading about you on JU.

Thank you for your response, Doc.

Because in the post you are refering to I used none of which you claimed I did.

Actually, you did:

"Your opinion has been dually noted and subsequently iqnored------>!<----------(notice exclamation point)"

Lol, why are you wrong about everything? And I've read about you too, Doc, and you are out of line copping any kind of attitude with me, buddy. Yeah, I know you read a lot about me here...take a look at LW's 'Buried Part II' post. Notice how I use words like 'please', 'thank you', and 'kindest regards'. Civilized. In return, I get 'you're an asshole' 'asinine' 'get a life' etc. And all because I'm trying to close the book on hate

Anyhoo, the blogsphere is supposed to be a free market of ideas. At JoeU, the market is distorted right now. I'm here for a little 'market correction'. And I think you'll find my opinion will be far from ignored.

Dr. Miller/ Little_Whip:

Though I've said it earlier, maybe I should say it again: I have no interest in defending MM. I've been alientated by him several times over, and if he continues to lie in order to push the Flint, angle, that's his own problem. I do not trust his journalism and some of his antics offend me. But I still think he's a good person, trying to do something good...even if he's becoming something for which he criticizes others.

By the way: Thanks, Deference.

For anyone who may be interested, I don't blacklist, for content, at least, except for a few circumstances I could imagine, and it serves no purpose to bring them up here.

But let's discuss content, here. The last thing I intended to do when I started this post was to begin the name-calling once again. Discussion is good, though, and it's why we're here. If the discussion is good, I'm probably okay with a little harmless name-calling, too.

Though the exclamation point joke was pretty funny.

With some of the folks here, the jokes write themselves

Wow. There's a mouthful. I assume because he's been blacklisted, there's not a wealth of his comments remaining for me to check out, is there? Does he direct his remarks toward people for the purpose of disruption, without basing them on any substance?

Lol, that's one can of worms that doesn't need to be opened, Taboo. You can still see my blog at davidsthubbins.joeuser.com , but it's mostly boring articles on economics with charts and stuff. So you can judge for yourself from my comments here and elsewhere. If you're really bored and want to see some vintage personal attacks, go ahead and google my name on this site; you'll see it's pretty one sided.

It should also be noted I'm Canadian and many Americans on this site are extreme nationalists by their own admission. They hate Europe, hate Canada, they pretty much hate everyone except the Brits. And Poland. How do you hate Canada, anyway? That's like hating beige. Anyhoo, many non-Americans have been run off this site because they don't fit in with the NeoNihilism that is the predominant school of thought for many Americans here. But not me. As long as white supremacists like Little Whip keeps disseminating KKK proaganda tactics, I'll be posting here at JoeU.

Little_Whip is certain further right on the continuum than I am, if not on the opposite end; but she hasn't ever proposed anything that would make me think of her as a white supremacist. Are you, Little_Whip?

Little Whip has confirmed she is a 'former' member of the KKK, see her blog article titled 'Why I joined the KKK'. She claims to be no longer active but she has made many anti-Muslim, anti-Israel, anti-gay, anti black posts, check her blog for such articles as 'Poor, Black, And Filthy'. I can point to several concrete examples in her articles, but the overall tone is racist and incites hatred against racial and religious groups, and I have notfied the ADL.

Her husband once wrote an article titled 'The Niggarization of America' which was so vicious he deleted it and he now blogs under an assumed name. This is all true, not exaggerated, and factually accurate. Notice I have made no value judgements or personal attacks above.

See what one nasty comment from Dr. Miller led to? That's why I'd appreciate it if people would stop attacking me, because it leads to these sorts of tangents.

What is the ADL? If you are refering to the "American Defence league" Then there is nothing they can do to LW.
If it's only other people attacking you, then why were you banned from the site?
